Across universities in Kenya, many students struggle silently with hunger.
At the same time, good food is wasted every day in nearby supermarkets, restaurants, and markets.
FoodSharing Kenya is changing this through our University FoodSharing Booths โ safe spaces where students can access food with dignity.
FoodSharing Booths are designated points within or near universities where rescued food is safely collected and shared with students in need.
These booths are run by student volunteers and supported by local food donors.
We partner with nearby supermarkets, restaurants, and markets to rescue surplus food
Food is safely transported to designated university booths
Student volunteers (FoodSavers) manage distribution
Students access food in a respectful and dignified way
Many students face financial challenges that affect their ability to afford meals.
Our University FoodSharing Booths:
Support students facing food insecurity
Promote a culture of sharing and community
Reduce food waste around campuses
Empower students to lead social impact initiatives
We aim to establish FoodSharing Booths in universities across Kenya, creating a nationwide network where:
No student goes to bed hungry
No good food goes to waste
