FoodSharing Kenya is a youth-led community-powered, sustainability-driven organization committed to ending hunger, reducing food waste, and promoting equitable access to nutritious food across Kenya.
We rescue safe, surplus food from farms, supermarkets, restaurants, events, homes, and institutions — then redistribute it directly to students, children, mothers, seniors, and vulnerable families who need it most.
We also operate FoodSharing Booths in universities and colleges, ensuring that no student skips a meal due to financial challenges. Our work combines food security, climate action, and environmental sustainability, creating a zero-waste, zero-hunger future for Kenya.
We collect safe, surplus food from farms, markets, supermarkets, restaurants, events, and households — preventing edible food from going to waste
We redistribute rescued food to vulnerable groups including children, students, mothers, seniors, and low-income families through community networks and University FoodSharing Booths.
We reduce waste, improve nutrition, and restore dignity by turning rescued food into support for vulnerable communities.
Every $1 donated allows us to rescue and deliver the equivalent of 20 meals back into the community.

At FoodSharing Kenya, our values guide every rescue, every partnership, and every meal shared. They shape how we serve communities, work with donors, and build a movement that is rooted in dignity, trust, and action.
We serve people with respect, compassion, and humanity.
We believe food waste and hunger require practical solutions, not talk only.
We protect the environment by rescuing safe surplus food and reducing waste.
Clear reporting, responsible distribution, and accountability at every stage.
We use simple, low-cost innovations—booths, fridges, SMS alerts—to increase reach and impact.
We believe stronger communities are built when people share, support, and act together.
FoodSharing Kenya is a national non-profit initiative that rescues surplus food from supermarkets, restaurants, hotels, farms, and households and redistributes it to vulnerable communities, schools, and university students.
